PRODUCTS WE PROVIDE

THEPODLADY.COM offers over 20 types of pods, dried botanicals and other
items from around the world for gourd artists and other crafters. These often
yet strange yet very compelling decorative botanicals add just the right touch
to a gourd rim, doll or creature. Review the photos in this site and then let your
imagination run wild. All will add a natural touch to wreaths and other
home/office decor as well. Most pods are able to be drilled for secure
attachment to the gourd, or for wiring into wreaths. See the notes underneath
botanicals for a description and hints on how to attach.

		Arti Pods Brazil $2.00 Package of three



	Hard, slightly curved pods, Can be drilled.



Bakuli Pods Australia $1.00 Four to a package.


Hard, dark pods with three pointed petals. Some have stems. Can be drilled. Looks nice in bunches of three.


	Carrotwood Pods USA $1.00 Ten for $1.00



Nice three-petal pods, most with stems. Some are curved. Can drill with care. Best glued.


	Coco Flower Brazil $1.00 One per package.

Looks like a flower. Comes from the
coconut palm. Centers can be soft so drill and
handle with care, or glue.



	Elephant Ear Pods Brazil $1.00 One per package


		Medium to large pods. If medium, I will ship two for same price. Some are flat, some are curved. Can be drilled.


	Estrela Brazil $1.00 Two per package.


		Darker on one side than the other. Very hard pods. Can be drilled.


	Eucalyptus Buttons Australia $1.00 Four to a package


	Very hard pods that have four indents at the top. Tapered ends. Can be drilled. They do not lay flat.


	Flower Mushrooms Australia $2.00 Three per package.



		Petals are sometime split but this adds to the natural look. I do have grade B in this pod, with a lot of splits, etc. Contact me for special bulk price. Can be drilled carefully on stem end.

Frogs Mouth Pod South America Med., two per pkg/$1.50 Large, one per pkg/$1.00



Similar to jacaranda pods but much larger and lighter in color. Very hard pods, some are flat, some are more curved. Can be drilled.

	Hakea Pods South Africa $1.00 Four per package.


		Comes in double as well as single pods. Package may be mixed. Flat on one side, rounded on other. Can be drilled.


	Hedge Apple Slices USA OUT OF STOCK UNTIL LATER THIS FALL.



		Real dried apple slices. Stiff but not hard enough to drill. Best glued. Shapes vary.



	Jacaranda Pods USA $1.00 Four in a package.


		Slightly darker than picture above and not as orange. Can be drilled.


		Kiya Pods Africa $1.00 Two per package



	Tapered end with indents at other wide end. Some have flat side. Can be drilled with care.


	Lotus Pods (mini) Australia $1.00 Eight per package


		2-4 cm. pods, too soft at end to drill. Most have short stem. Should be glued.



	Philodendron Sheaths USA $5.00 Bunch of 10


Sheaths are approx. 12-15 in length. Soften in hot water or simmer in glycerine. Directions included. "Flower" ends vary in size. Other end is tapered. Can't drill, be careful when overhand sewing on rim so as not to rip the sheath fibers.



		Palbosa Flower Brazil $1.00 Ten per package.


	Soft dired flowers with center bud. Can't be drilled. Darker than shown in image, very dry.


	Porcupine Quills Africa, 4 inches $2.00 One per package



		Very sharp. These will be double packed in your order. Can be drilled with very tiny bit. From Africa, approx. 4" each.

Protea Pods

These pods come in flat and curly, with heads that are
about 3" across. Also a closed variety that is quite lovely.
I've just located a source for these pods and will be
posting photos, etc. as soon as they are in stock.



		Sponge Mushrooms (mini) $1.25 Four per package.


	Some pieces larger than others. I will mix the sizes. Adds a nice natural touch to a gourd rim or on wood bases, etc. Best glued.


Twistie Pods (Gold) $1.00 20 per package


Sorry, these are gold, not natural colored. A mistake on my part in ordering. But they would look nice in wreaths, etc. Can be drilled.

ANTLERS

Shown at the bottom of this page are two examples of
using antlers with gourds, and photos/sizes (length on
the curve) and prices of are some of the antlers that I
have in stock. If you want to purchase an antler, or
discuss what I have available, please give me a call or

Hi, everyone. We are successfully
relocated to the mountains of North
Carolina, in Franklin...and we love it.
Of course, the Natives said they only
get a "dusting" of snow every now
and then.....oh sure, our first
weekend here we were snowed in!
Couldn't get down our drive, which is
a mile long. But it has been a harsh
winter for everyone, so I won't
complain too much. The cats have
food, and we have food and wine, and
there's wood for the stove, so all is
well.

On another front, my second book on
Antlers for Basketry and Gourd Art is
in the printing process and hopefully
will be released sometime in
mid-to-late summer 2010. Will keep
you posted.
